“The Rhodope-Aegean Adventure” with mountain routes and yacht cruises is created through a Bulgarian-Greek project.
A joint Bulgarian-Greek tourism product is being developed through the project “Solutions Based on Shared Economy in Cross-Border Sustainable Tourism,” announced Miryana Naydenova from the project team at a press conference today. Funding from the project will be used to purchase a cruise yacht, which will complement the mountain routes with sea routes. The project will be financed by the Interreg Greece–Bulgaria cross-border cooperation program.
The project aims to stimulate small and medium-sized businesses in the cross-border area. The main investments for the joint product “Rhodope-Aegean Adventure” are allocated for a yacht and a renovated building in the village of Shiroka Luka. Beneficiaries of the project are Bulgarian and Greek companies, who will partner in developing the tourism product from Shiroka Luka to Samothrace and Thassos. The companies will finance a portion of the investments through their own contributions to the project.
The plans are for the product to expand the existing export markets of the tourism region, attracting tourists from the EU, the US, and Asia.
The total budget of the project amounts to over 460,000 euros.
